The terms that govern how buyers and providers use EPD Market.

Version 1.0 · Draft May 2026

1. The platform

EPD Market is an independent global B2B marketplace connecting manufacturers needing Environmental Product Declarations ("buyers") with LCA consultants and accredited verifiers ("providers"). The platform is currently operated as a high-touch concierge service. We are not a program operator, an LCA consultancy, or an EPD generator.

2. Who can use EPD Market

EPD Market is intended for use by businesses or registered professionals over 18 acting in a business capacity. By using the platform you confirm that you are authorised to bind the organisation you represent.

3. What the platform provides

For buyers: we match your brief to 2–3 qualified providers from our network. We facilitate the proposal process. We are not party to any contract you ultimately sign with a provider — that contract is between you and the provider directly.

For providers: we send you sector-matched briefs, host your profile, and bill commission on closed matches. Provider participation is governed by the separate provider agreement signed at onboarding, which takes precedence over these terms where they conflict.

4. Fees

5. The independence rules

Use of the platform requires acceptance of the independence policy. Among other things, a verifier on EPD Market cannot be matched to a project they consulted on, and no provider can pay to be ranked higher in a shortlist. Material breaches of the policy may result in removal from the platform.

6. No-circumvention (providers only)

Providers agree that any project originating from a brief introduced through EPD Market is subject to the project commission, even if the buyer and provider subsequently contract outside the platform. This obligation applies for 24 months after the initial introduction. Buyers are not party to this obligation.

7. Our role and limits of liability

EPD Market is an introduction and matching service. We are not a party to the consulting or verification contract between buyer and provider, we do not warrant the quality of any EPD produced, and we do not guarantee any specific outcome (regulatory acceptance, tender success, or otherwise).

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for any claim arising out of your use of the platform is limited to the fees paid to us by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Intellectual property

The EPD Market name, wordmark, design system, and site content are owned by the operator of the platform. You may not reproduce, modify, or use them except as permitted within ordinary use of the platform. Content you submit (briefs, profiles, quotes) remains yours; you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it for matching, communication, and platform-operations purposes.

10. Termination

You may stop using the platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access where you breach these terms, the independence policy, the provider agreement, or applicable law. On termination, the no-circumvention obligation in §6 survives for the period stated. Sections relating to liability, indemnification, IP, and governing law also survive termination.

11. Changes

We update these terms as the platform matures. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed at legal review]. Disputes will first be addressed by good-faith negotiation; failing that, by the courts of [jurisdiction to be confirmed], or such other forum as mandatory consumer-protection law requires.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms: please use our contact form with "Legal" in the subject.
